Our Artists
Magary - A percussionist by trade, his travel, and work brought him into contact with various rhythms. He eventually fall in love by Semba, an Angolan rhythm that is predecessor to Samba and Kizomba. Semba comes from the singular Masemba meaning "a touch of the bellies", a move that characterizes the Semba dance. Magary's dedication led him to produce a working laboratory where he mixes Semba with rock, reggae, funk, soul, and traditional rhythms of Bahia such as Samba de Roda, in addition to playing the great successes of the MPB.
Tropikola - Founded in Salvador in 2004 by a group of Latin Americans living in Brazil, Tropikola plays a wide repetoire of salsa, merengue, cha cha cha and cumbias. The house is always filled when Tropikola plays.
DJ Sankofa - One of the owners of the bar, DJ Sankofa Ghana brings his emotion, passion and African music such as zouk, kizomba and Semba to Salvador. "I came to bring African music to Bahia," he said. Even the most timid of those present can not resist dancing to the infections beats of DJ Sankofa's African music.
